Substantial Medical Research Study on the Impacts of Cannabis on the Kidneys Shows Up Absolutely Nothing
With so little major research carried out on the health results of marijuana use, when little gems of information like what was recently launched from the Harvard University’s School of Public Health comes out we wish to analyze it in detail. This study concentrated on the effects of cannabis usage on the kidneys with over 14,000 topics.
The kidneys filter out damaging substances from blood like alcohol and when excessive alcohol is introduced to a system, it can alter the function of the kidneys, keeping it from doing its job like controling water. THC and other cannabinoids do not seem to alter the function of the kidneys based off of the this research study, however more in-depth research will need to be conducted.
“Our research provides some reassuring evidence suggesting that there is no destructive effect of irregular, relatively light usage of marijuana on kidney function amongst healthy adults under age 60,” stated lead private investigator Dr. Murray Mittleman. He’s a professor of public health at Harvard University’s School of Public Health and an associate teacher of medicine at Harvard Medical School.
“However, our research study does not deal with heavy users, the senior, or those with pre-existing chronic kidney disease,” Mittleman stated in a Harvard news release. “Research study is had to evaluate the effect of cannabis use in grownups 60 and over, and among those with existing or at threat of establishing kidney disease.”
To investigate that, Mittleman’s group examined information from almost 14,000 U.S. adults, ages 18 to 59, who took part in the National Health and Nutrition Evaluation Study from 2007 to 2014.
The researchers inspected levels of microalbuminuria (a boost in urine albumin, which is a marker for kidney illness), and they found no association between past or current marijuana usage and aggravated kidney function or illness.
There are many people that think that cannabis consumption is totally safe from their personal experience, but others make sure that marijuana is horrible for people. There is little in this world that if consumed in abundance will not have some sort of adverse effect on health. Do you believe that marijuana intake is completely harmless?
